I want to warmly welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. As your assistant principal, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to be able to assist Dr. Kellogg in making this a great school year and support the mission and vision of Putnam County Charter School System and Putnam County High School. I look forward to working with our dedicated staff and community to help provide the best educational experience for our students. Putnam County High School enjoys a rich history of academic and cultural excellence based on loyalty and integrity.
As an educator in the Putnam County Charter School System, I have served students at Putnam County Middle School as a classroom teacher (mathematics), instructional coach, and assistant principal. I grew up a few miles east of Eatonton, in Sparta. I graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1996 and later matriculated at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville earning a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education in 2000. I continued my education at Central Michigan University, receiving both my Master of Arts in Education (2001) and Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision (2006). Before joining the Putnam County Charter School System family, I spent three years at T.J. Elder Middle School in Washington County and two years in Baldwin County at Oak Hill Middle School and the Sallie E. Davis Performance Learning Center.
Having previously taught for eight years at Putnam County Middle School, served as instructional coach for three years, and assistant principal for three years, I feel fortunate to be able to continue to serve this wonderful community at the high school level. I am committed to ensuring that our students receive the best academic and social support, and I am excited to continue developing partnerships with families and businesses in the community. Please feel free to stop by my office to say hello, as my door is always open! I wish your family, and especially your student, great success during this new school year.
Respectfully,
Ms. ShayKele T. Holsey
